By combining history, journalism, research, and lore, Mercedes Yaeger introduces the people and the places of the Pike Place Market to the reader in Market Ghost Stories. Now in its fourth printing, the book is self-published by the Market Ghost Tour and has sold over 2,000 copies in it's first 9 months of publication. Stories in the book are about reported hauntings in the district but delve beyond just the reports.
As one reader said "Very well researched and written, and I especially liked that it was not your 'typical' ghost story book. It made the history of the area really come alive." The book includes historical information about Seattle, archival photos, and paranormal occurrences in the Market. Subject matters include not only the phenomenal but the very real and at times gruesome history of the NorthWest. The stories are not for the very young.
